The Rhine Falls can be visited from the Zurich and from the Schaffhausen side. From Schloss Laufen the sidewalk past by the brawly water volmue to the plattfrom "Känzeli" which is directly located standing in the Rhine Falls basin. On the Neuhausener side a wide boardwalk invites you for a walk. On a boat trip you can take powerful nature spectacle from the close up.

Two attractions turn the Rhine Falls to an memorable experience: on the one hand, the observation deck "Känzeli» on the Zurich side of the Rhine Falls - a footpath leads from Schloss Laufen direct into the Rhine Falls standing spectacular observatio point - on the other hand you can pull over with excursion boats from both riversides through the Kolkbecken close to the Rhine Falls and drop off on the middle rock. On top of the rock is an observation deck placed from where you can overlook the waterfall from both sides which is simply breathtaking. The Rhine Falls is indeed the best explored waterfall in Switzerland or even in Europe. And with about one and a half million visitors per year also the well-known one. Also he is honered in arts and literature in numerously works of art. Ensemble of art collections are dedicated to him, famous poets wrote about him, and legends have grown around the Rhine Falls. In addition to the height of 23 m the fall measures a width of 150 m, the Kolkbecken in the impact zone has a deepness of 13 m. The average annual runoff is given as 600 m3 / s. The maximum runoff was measured in 1965 with 1250 m3 / s. The least runoff with 95 m3 / s was back in 1921. A panel in the middle of the fall remind that the water level must have been extremely low also in the years 1880 and 1953.
